PARSODY
noun / A parallel relationship with song or melody / The translation and portrayal of a neighboring entity’s core traits
-
Parsody objects are primarily made using recycled materials - sourced from found objects, vintage jewelry, vintage textiles, industry byproducts, and industry waste.
-
Parsody navigates the relationship between music and the objects of our physical world, with a focus on functionality - jewelry, accessories, and homewares, and interactive sculpture.
Each exhibition is paralleled with a set of musical fragments - composed around the resonant frequencies of the incorporated materials, and scored to represent the intended emotional quality of the finished pieces.
Most objects are crafted using a 1:3 ratio of new and recycled materials. Upon completion, they are inherently embedded with the elemental and chronological histories of the artisans, warriors, criminals, and laborers who materials have been sourced from. When you use and interact with Parsody objects, you are expanding their rich history.
All works are hand crafted in the United States.
